Artist Bio

Sheniqua Young is a Jamaican-American painter from Long Island, NY. She is a self-taught artist who discovered her creative talents at an early age. During her childhood, she was always drawing, painting, or making crafts. She currently works in various mediums including oil, watercolor, acrylics and digital art. Her artwork is inspired by Caribbean landscapes, Black beauty and culture.

Artist Statement

My paintings focus on the beauty, poise and strength of women. I am passionate about painting different expressions of Black femininity and beauty. I create digital and oil portraits of Black women with bold, vibrant colors to capture the essence of my subject. I hope my art provides a sense of confidence and promotes self-love among its viewers.
