Artist Statement
I have always found myself hypnotized by the unique complexity of nature, our human tendencies and how it can be compared to the elements around us. As vast as the universe and the oceans. The moon and the stars. I try to incorporate this in my pieces. I use Acrylic, heavy gel, Matt and gloss mediums to create eye popping visuals on canvas, that reflect women in unique areas of nature. I use silhouettes that are statuesque and often surrounded by elements of Fire and Water. There is a constant war fought in our heads for balance. There are days we feel solid and unshakeable. When we’re at our best everything makes sense and flows effortlessly. Like the journey of oxygen to the lungs, nature makes everything seem easy. When in reality everything takes an immense amount of energy and pressure. Adjusting to every day challenges can seem impossible at times but in my art I want to prove it is possible to find peace within ourself.
