Artist Bio

Go Cosmicninja (Jessica Jones) Jessica is both a traditional and digital illustrator from Oakland, Ca. Her work is often centered around her nostalgia for Oakland and The Bay Area as well as her vision of the future and present. She tells her stories through vibrant colors and fun characters. She is a full time illustrator and mother of two, navigating through life and striving to always remain creative. Artist Statement

The work I create is centered almost always around my nostalgia. The past plays such a huge role in the way I see the future, so instead of simply interpreting the past I tend to blend ideas and reimagine the past and present in the future. This particular collection is centered around Balck women in space. Simply being in a space unknown yet familiar is where I hope people can find themselves. The colors for these pieces were heavily inspired by Parliament-Funkadelic which is a collective of artist who head lighted Afro-futurism as we know it both sonically and aesthetically.
